Fashion on Sale!

Everyone knows safari-chic is huge for Spring. We have all been bombarded with it since September, when the spring collections found their way down the runways. I already own a cropped safari jacket, but when I saw this Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket, at a great sale price, I knew I had to get it so I could wear it during the summer with wedges and a floppy hat. Check it out!

A new trend (fingers crossed)

I love Rachels' updated look.... It's trendy without screaming fashion victim (AHEM, all you ladies walking around with the Posh Bob!). I also love Reese Witherspoons' cropped bangs. I think it's time for me to get a low-commitment fringe myself.

The Herve influence

Yesterday, I wrote about BCBG MaxAzria, and today I'm writing about the other company 'the man behind the dress' designs for. Herve Leger was so popular back in the 80's/90's. Every supermodel who was super was photoed in the clingy bandages that is the signature of the company.
When Azria took over the french company in late 1998, he did indeed have problems re-inventing such an iconic dress. Ever since last year, when a certain troubled starlet was photographed in a vintage Herve Leger rainbow dress, so much buzz has been surrounding the fashion house. The last two collections were dynamite, and thus began the 'bandage effect'. Many companies have payed homage ( ripped off) to the iconic dress, by coming out with eerily similar designs.
In the last year, I have seen hundreds of dresses try to copy the legendary design, most without great success. This "Bodyamr Panel Mini Dress" dress, ( similar to a purple Herve Leger dress) has an awkward fit, and will cost your purse almost double the amount at $2,310!!

Spring 2008 RTW

If you go on www.Style.com, and look under BCBG Maxazrias profile, you will not only see the lovely images available, but you will also see the content written by a Vogue staffer. They go onto claim that they cannot see trenches made of see-through material selling. I really could not disagree more.
The minute I saw the beautiful material flow on the runways in the fall, I was in love. I knew I would have to get my hands on not only the organza trench, but other see-through items seen on various runways, from an abundance of designers. The only thing I can object to, is the leather belts thrice wrapped. But, that's just Max Azria, he loves to loop belts around everything. I'm going to wear my trench with a thick satin belt.
